Clean and Simple Card

I decided to create a card for a girlfriend that I don't see very often. I've been looking more and more at CAS cards and have made a couple. They are not that easy to make and I sometimes feel like there is something missing. For my card today I embossed the paper and added a tone on tone ribbon. I liked it so much I didn't really want to add a sentiment on the front. I thought it would take away from the simplicity and beauty of the card, so I wrote the sentiment on the inside. That is a big leap for me out of my comfort zone of card making, but I'm happy with how it turned out and I'm entering it in the Less Is More Challenge 5, which was to make a card using pastel colors. Thanks for stopping by.
Card size: A2
Card base: White Colorbok
Pattern paper: K&Co Super Paper Pad
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug Stylized Flowers
Ribbon: Offray Spool O' Ribbon from Michaels

After reading Mandi's feedback, I decided to add a couple of Recollections pearl stickers to the center of the two flowers. I like it even more now. :)

  1. Hi Christy
That's a super embossing folder, I have it too.
If I may say, I think this needs a slight lift by a little something else. STrictly speaking, there is no 'white' or blank space. Maybe if the panel had been cut smaller than the card base, then the ribbon as is. If you don't want a sentiment a gem on the flower centres would draw your eye in more
no offense, easy for me to sit here and criticise
    Thanks for entering

  2. I assume you added the gems to the flower sentiments after Mandi's comment above?

I really like this and am not sure how I'd go about adding a sentiment to the front without it spoiling the overall effect!

You nailed the challenge with your 2nd card though!

  3. When I look at this card, I find myself searching for something that isn't there.... the paper is lovely and so is the bow, but there's no focal point to draw the eye!
A smaller amount of DP and either a sentiment or an image would somehow feel more satisfying!
Thanks for your submission, and see you next time!
